All Christians are called to run the race marked out for them by the Lord Jesus Christ. But this race is not a competition to see who wins. It is a race to ensure that He wins.
As believers, we are not competing with one another, but rather striving to complete our individual races in the time we’ve been allotted on Earth. What could we accomplish for the glory of God if we ran side by side— not as competitors, but as partners, encouragers and equippers?
That’s the question FINISH 2030 is racing to answer.
On October 30-November 1, 2017, the Global Church Network hosted The Wittenberg 2017 Congress in Berlin and Wittenberg, Germany. The Congress celebrated a most significant event: the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther nailing his 95 Theses on Wittenberg’s Castle Church door, sparking the Protestant Reformation.
More than 600 key Christian leaders from 60 nations and every world region, crossing denominational and geographic lines, gathered for the Wittenberg 2017 Congress.
On November 1, 2017—exactly 500 years after the first official day of the Protestant Reformation—these 600-plus leaders stood in the same Castle Church where Martin Luther made his bold stand, and where he is now honored and buried, and joined together with the Global Church Network to declare a bold new vision.
They articulated this vision in The FINISH 2030 Declaration:

For us, The FINISH 2030 Declaration is not just a nice idea. It’s not just words on a page. It’s a challenge that we’ve accepted.
We have developed a three-phased race strategy that we believe can get the Church across the 2030 FINISH line. Many great Christian leaders and organizations, both in the U.S. and around the globe, have already agreed to partner with us in this endeavor. They’ve agreed to pray. They’ve agreed to invest. They’ve agreed to work side by side with us and with one another.
We’ve set race milestones that not only give us direction; they give us achievable, measurable goals for gauging our progress:
